Solutions

Understand the commitments behind capacity.

Inspect assignments, schedules and bookings while keeping the original work close.

The work to improve

A resource decision can go wrong when a small task count is mistaken for free time or a project filter hides other commitments.

Use Bandwidth to find where to look, then inspect the assignments before changing an owner. Team skills, due dates and displaced commitments still need a human decision.

When a project needs a capacity check, open the planner and use the compact return bar to go back. The record remains part of the same working conversation.

What changes for your team

  • Open the work behind an assignment-load signal.
  • Review authorized schedule and booking evidence.
  • Return to the task or project after inspecting capacity.

What you can explore in Vision

  • Bandwidth assignment drilldowns and people search
  • Recorded capacity for the next four weeks
  • Movable minimized-record bar with Go back

Questions worth asking

Are assignment counts the same as hours?

No. Counts describe visible work assignments; schedules and bookings provide separate availability evidence.

Can a project filter hide other commitments?

The person’s visible total retains other visible commitments so a project filter does not imply an empty schedule.

Does minimizing save a durable backup?

No. It preserves navigation and supported drafts during the session; the return list ends on reload or sign-out.

Scope and availability

  • Missing bookings do not establish available capacity.
  • Forecasts and assignment counts do not simulate skills or future staffing changes.
