Solutions

Tasks can stand on their own.

Give work structure when it needs structure, without starting over.

The work to improve

Not every task begins as a project. Forcing early hierarchy can slow capture; leaving work scattered can hide ownership and blockers.

When the work becomes part of a larger effort, preview its destination and the records affected. Vision checks the current location, private boundaries and access before applying the change.

The same task remains available through different views. A saved operational view can keep independent or waiting work in sight even while other work is organized into projects.

What changes for your team

  • Capture independent work and keep it visible.
  • Move work into the right project or subproject when plans mature.
  • Retain the identity and history behind the work.

What you can explore in Vision

  • No project, Unassigned, Waiting on someone and Overdue Focus filters
  • Reviewed organization of tasks and optional subtasks
  • Explicit ownership handoff with current access checks

Questions worth asking

Can a task exist without a project?

Yes. A primary project is optional, and Focus can show accessible work with no project.

Can subtasks move with their parent?

Organize work lets you review whether to include subtasks and shows the affected records before applying.

What remains after a move?

Task IDs, discussions, attachments and historical time or invoice attribution are preserved.

Scope and availability

  • No project is a location choice, not a privacy setting.
  • Moves can be rejected when they would widen private access or include inaccessible children.
